The Bushnell features a variety of spaces from the world-class William H. Mortensen Hall, where broadway comes to Hartford - to the intimate and refined Horace Bushnell Suite, perfect for private events.

The Bushnell is Connecticut’s most elegant full-service space for performances, fund-raisers, weddings, mitzvah ceremonies, corporate and private events. View the full array of Bushnell spaces here, then let our expert planners and technical staff help you create a memorable and successful event.

Because The Bushnell is an active performing arts center, our booking process is somewhat different than other traditional venues. We also appreciate and value your unique needs, so we don’t attempt to fit your event into cookie cutter packages or all-inclusive pricing. So here’s what you can expect when you contact us to inquire about having your event at The Bushnell.

What To Expect When Inquiring

STEP ONE: Gather Basic Information About Your Event

To confirm availability, we’ll need some basic information:

- The date(s) you are interested in

- The type of event you’re planning

- The start and end times

- Your expected number of guests

- Audio/visual needs

STEP TWO: Review Initial Proposal

We'll provide you with a written proposal that reflects room charges and various service fees - depending on your needs. (Your initial proposal will not have food and beverage costs yet). It’s at this point that we ask you to confirm your space reservation by approving your contract and paying a deposit.

STEP THREE: Determine Food and Beverage with Max Catering

As part of our commitment to providing you with the best possible experience, we have partnered exclusively with Max Catering – the best caterer in our region! Once you speak with Max’s expert planners to learn about their expansive repertoire of possibilities - food and beverage costs will be added to your contract.

STEP FOUR: Refine and Finalize Details

Your contract is a living document. During the planning process leading up to your event, you have total flexibility to make changes and adjustments to event details. Our goal is to have all plans finalized 10 days prior to your event date at which time we will ask you to confirm your guaranteed guest count.
